Oil Scheme hits the headlines

In recent days ORCC Trading's bulk oil buying scheme has featured on Radio Oxford , BBC Oxford TV News and in the Oxford Mail. Linda Watson, ORCC Chief Executive, Chris Pomfret, Scheme Negotiator and local co-ordinators were interviewed and filmed. With prices for members of the scheme so much better than the average price quoted, members make great savings. Enquiries are coming in thick and fast!

There are still lots of communities where there are large numbers of houses without gas, where we have no community co-ordinators.  We would especially like volunteers to come forward in the following areas, all of which have more than half their households without gas – in some cases, almost all of them:-

  • Claydon with Cattercot, Mollington, Cropredy, Bourton, Prescott and Wardington
  • Horley, Hornton, Shenington, Epwell
  • Wiggington, South Newington, The Barfords
  • Swerford, Little and Great Tew, Heythrop, Sandford St Martin and Worton
  • Steeple Barton, Westcote Barton, Kiddington with Asthall Leigh
  • Stonesfield and Combe
  • Everywhere south from Souldern, Hardwick and Cottisford down to Bletchingdon, and Hampton Gayle across to Horton cum Studley – this is a huge ‘off-gas’ area, yet we have NO co-ordinators there at all!
  • The very western edge of the county from Idbury down to Kelmscott
  • Buscot, Eaton Hastings, Coleshill, the Coxwells and Fernham
  • Appleton, Eaton, Besselsleigh and Wootton (by Abingdon)
  • All those parishes in the very south west of the county – Sydenham down to Stoke Row.
  • And please, come on Stanton Harcourt and Sutton!  We need your help!  We have numerous members in your patch but no-one has yet volunteered for this small, straightforward task……
