Oil Supplies

Since ORCC Trading Ltd launched the new county-wide bulk oil-buying scheme, the weather has done its worst and people have suddenly lurched from being worried about the rocketing prices, to worrying about whether they were going to get their oil at all.

Oil suppliers up and down the country have been telling their customers that they haven’t got enough oil to meet the demand, leaving Christmas buyers out on a limb. Some suppliers are willing to allow customers to pick up small quantities of oil themselves – enough to tide them over for a few more crucial days. ORCC Trading isn’t yet offering this service (although some readers may remember that a short-term scheme was put in place during the heavy snow of Jan/Feb 2010), however if you have run out or are at risk of running out very soon, it’s worth shopping around to see if any local supplier will be willing to sell you a small quantity for you to transport yourself.

ORCC Trading Ltd won’t be placing another order until the new year, by which time we hope the supply situation will have improved. If you want to take advantage of the next bulk order, now’s the time to join the scheme. If there isn’t a local co-ordinator in your area yet, how about volunteering yourself?  Details of what’s involved are here on the website, in the leaflet for local co-ordinators.
