Welcome to the new ORCC website!
ORCC is celebrating its 90th birthday in good shape after a challenging period of re-organisation and new building works. It’s hard to believe that in a few short months we’ve recruited 5 new staff and completely re-jigged the ground floor of our Jericho Farm premises – not to mention that we’ve produced a great range of new publicity material and launched our new website. And we’ve lived to tell the tale!
Throughout it all, the most important job – working with rural communities across Oxfordshire – has carried on, with the only interruption being caused by January’s snow. Now that spring is in the air, we have lots of new work to be getting on with and we hope the website will give you all the information you want about our latest activities. If you’ve never come across ORCC before, don’t be fooled by our name. We are a registered charity (a ‘council’ only in the sense of people coming together to confer) and are wholly independent. We are one of a national network of 38 RCCs, and at 90 years old we’re the oldest one of them all. We work with our colleagues to share ideas and learn from each other. And all the RCCs have to comply with certain quality standards to help ensure we are doing what people in Oxfordshire want us to be doing and that we are doing it well.
If you’d like to show your support for ORCC, we’d love to have you along as a member. It’s £15 a year for individuals, £30 for organisations, and £50 for businesses (this includes a free advert in one of ORCC’s publications).
