Community Led Planning
A Community Led Plan sets out a VISION of how your community wants to develop and identifies the ACTION needed for you to achieve it.
These plans, sometimes called Parish Plans, are produced by communities, for communities. They are based on detailed consultation which involve the whole community.
Community Led Plans prompt local action and influence others such as local councils. Successful community plans use the Community Led Planning Toolkit, supported by the team here at ORCC, and can demonstrate that a variety of consultation methods have been used.
A Community Led Plan gives everyone the chance to say what they think about the issues affecting their community and how they would like it to develop. It celebrates the good things, highlights local needs and contains a detailed action plan to help the community meet those needs.
If you already know you want to start your own plan or want to find out if there has been a plan started near you, then please visit our dedicated Community Led Planning website and register at www.clp-se.org.uk.
Once there, you can view all the published plans in the South East and find all the tools you need to do a plan yourself by having access to the national Community Led Planning Toolkit.
If you would like to know more about how your community could benefit from a Community Led Plan, or about any of the above, contact Anton or Aimee, ORCC’s Community Development Workers, today.
